About The Course
This course is designed for beginners, and more experienced fashion designers who want to improve their drawing skills. Fashion sketching and illustrating are key skills in the fashion design process, and this fashion illustration course will teach students how to draw garments and render materials such as silk, leather and denim using pencils and markers. There is an option to apply for manual drawing class and/or digital fashion illustration. It is a crash course that is taught within a total of 15 days.
All students who apply for both manual and digital illustration classes would have an exclusive one-day class on Idea Development.
Students will explore different fashion illustration techniques such as drawing textures using graphite or soft pencil and basic marker rendering. They will learn how to sketch pleats, flares, gathers, necklines, collars, sleeves, and will help them depict fabric that drapes naturally, and capture textures and embellishments in their drawings.
Students will develop their fashion illustration sketches week by week with feedback from their tutor. This is a practical course where students are encouraged to experiment with different types of fashion illustration and drawing.
